This is Duncan Reed: independent consulting hydrologist and author of Letters in applied hydrology. I ceased self-employment on 31 March 2022 and am now retired. Any new work would likely need to be both specialist and unpaid. I am unnerved at the very weak engagement of the hydrological community (and others) with the planned Abingdon Reservoir aka SESRO. What will you tell your family and friends when the scheme proves an environmental, financial or physical disaster? Well, it should have worked or I never realised what was planned or Well, it paid for your school fees. Click SESRO to find out more. All below is legacy. Maybe explore that another time? My main areas of expertise are:
with a client list including: Arup, Atkins Water, Aviva, Barratt Homes, Bureau Veritas, Capita Symonds (now Capita), Faber Maunsell (now Aecom), Halcrow (now CH2M), HR Wallingford, Imperial College, JBA Consulting, Menston Action Group, Newcastle University, OPW, Peter Brett Associates, Reading University, RPS and United Utilities. Whilst developing and interpreting historical flood data remains a specialism, drought severity assessment was my most recent area of R & D. |
